Native Plant Sale

Get a jump on spring planting that’s good for the environment by shopping for native plants at the LHF Native Plant Sale on May 6 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Lake Hopatcong Train Station, 125 Landing Road, Landing.

Twenty-six different varieties of plants, all native to New Jersey, will be available for purchase including some wonderful flowering plants like asters, phlox, rudbeckia, blue bells, and native sunflowers, as well as some really interesting plants for the yard like wintergreen, witch hazel, boneset, elderberry, and New Jersey tea.

This will be a cash only sale.

Native plants are those that occur naturally in a region in which they evolved. They are easier on the environment because they are adapted to the local landscape and generally require less water and little maintenance after they are established.  They improve water quality by increasing the penetration of rainwater into the ground and filter pollutants from our water.  Native plants require less fertilizers which reduces the amount of fertilizer that stormwater carries into our lake.

Native plants also provide essential habitat and food for birds, native bees, butterflies, bats and many mammals.   By choosing native plants in your yard, you are not only helping wildlife, but you are creating a healthier place for yourself, your family, and your community.

Getting it Right From the Start; Roxbury Realtor Bob Idakaar

ROXBURY, NJ – Twenty years ago this month, Bob Idakaar experienced an unprofessional real estate agent. That’s when he decided to be a good one.

Idakaar, a lifelong Succasunna resident and TAPinto Roxbury sponsor, bought his fifth home in July 1997. A big event, one that could have been joyous, ended up being stressful and unenjoyable.

“I had a bad experience,” he ...

Thank You Roxbury

November 9, 2017

It is not an easy task to put yourself out there and run for office.

All four of the candidates who ran for Roxbury Township Board of Education had the best interests of our district and its students at heart, and all four of us brought a unique perspective to the table.

Roxbury would have “won” regardless of who prevailed in Tuesday's election.

Bearing that in ...

I Am Voting For Heather Champagne for Roxbury School Board

Today I will be voting for Heather McMurchie Champagne for Roxbury NOW.

Why? Because she is the best candidate for the position, in my opinion.

She has been involved in the community, not just at the school level. She understands what changes need to be made to best benefit the schools and most importantly our children.

Having a child in our schools, Heather is able to see first hand the ...
