CHATHAM, NJ - The Roxbury High School girls lacrosse team was eliminated Tuesday from the Morris County Tournament as Chatham's Emilie de Keyzer scored seven goals and Schuyler Bixby was credited with five assists in the 15-3 game.
Chatham (8-5) advances to the MCT semifinals against West Morris.
During the game, Roxbury's Emily Koepfler, Tara Roumes and Kendall Torpin each scored goals. The Gaels' goaltending was handled by Karla Hoyos-Hernandez and Natalie Shulkowski, who each made three saves.
Zoe Kraus netted three goals and Frances Workman scored twice for the Lady Cougars. Catherine McNiff, Lizzie O'Neill and Ally Franz scored a goal apiece for Chatham, which received two assists from Abby Morgan.
Posting on Twitter, Roxbury coach Kevin Bewalder called the loss "humbling" and praised Chatham's skill level. "Got exposed to (& by) that higher level of play," he wrote. "Clean crisp passing & disciplined attack."
Roxbury, 7-3, plays North Warren Regional today at home.
