ROXBURY, NJ - The Roxbury High School boys basketball team's win streak continued Thursday as the team defeated Morris Hills 56-34 after holding a comfortable lead for the majority of the game.
With the win - the team's fifth consecutive victory, the Gaels advanced their record to 9-2 for the season.
The entire team contributed to the victory;11 players scored in the contest with Kyle Haegele leading once again with 20 points.
Trevor Napoliello followed with 10 of his own and Brian Nichols added nine to the tally.
The defense made its presence obvious, allowing only 10 points to be scored against Roxbury in the first half. Players like Colby Snoke and Max Schabel prevented Morris Hills from gaining any type of offensive flow and made sure no shot went uncontested.
The Gaels will play their next game away at West Morris on Jan. 22 at 7 p.m. where they will battle to improve their already impressive record. The team last lost a game on Jan. 6 when it was beaten 44-39 by Mountain Lakes.
Since then, Roxbury beat Morris Knolls, Montville, West Milford, Parsippany Hills and, today, Morris Hills. It's only other loss this year came on Dec. 30 against Franklin.
