ROXBURY, NJ – A visit today (Feb. 20) to Roxbury Diner can accomplish three things: Satisfy your appetite, show your patriotism and help wounded American service members feel a little better.
The diner, on Route 10 in Succasunna (a TAPinto Roxbury sponsor), has partnered with the local chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) for a “Project Patriot” fundraiser taking place today until 10 p.m. As part of the President’s Day arrangement, the diner will donate some of its proceeds to DAR which will use the money to buy gift cards for the wounded warriors.
“The DAR has a number of different committees and Project Patriot is one of them,” said DAR Ferro Monte Chapter Regent Kim Armstrong. “Project Patriot focuses on currently serving military. We are dining (at Roxbury Diner) to raise funds for gift cards that will go to injured members of the military that hospitalized to make their lives a little easier.”
The phone cards will be sent to soldiers being treated at Landstuhl Medical Center in Germany.
Those who want to participate need to bring a copy of a coupon that must be given to their servers at the diner, Armostrong stressed. You can also print it from this image:
