ROXBURY, N.J. - It was a day of mixed results for Roxbury High School's sports teams, with losses - including those for tennis, volleyball and boys soccer - offset a bit by a girls soccer win over West Morris Central.

That game wasn't just a win, it was a 3-0 shutout featuring goals by Ashleigh Sarafin, Karly Forker and Madison Martino and assists by Shannon Miller, Sarafin and Forker. The victory brings the girls soccer record to 1-1.

Their male soccer counterparts didn't fare as well. Having shut out Sparta on Sept. 9, the boys team had he tables turned on itself today, losing 2-1 to West Morris.

Meanwhile the volleyball team also took a loss to West Morris. The Gaels beat the Wolfpack team in the first set, 25-20, but got hammered 25-15 in the middle matchup and fared even worse in the 25-10 rubber match. Volleyball now has a 1-1 record, haven beaten Sparta in the season opener.

It was Mendham that handed a loss to Roxbury's girls tennis team. The Gaels fell 5-0 on the tennis courts.
