SPARTA, NJ – The Roxbury High School girls soccer team won its first game of the season Wednesday in a 2-1 away game victory at Sparta. The win brings the team’s record to 1-1.

Deanna Graziani and Ashleigh Sarafin scored the points. Ryelle Sansone assisted on both.

Roxbury had 23 shots on goal while Sparta logged 15.

The boys soccer squad, playing on their home field, tied the Sparta boys team. Both teams scored one goal, with Roxbury’s coming off the foot of Nick Caicedo, assisted by David Gearhart.

The teams next play West Morris Central at 4 p.m. on Sept. 16, with the boys again at home and the girls away.
