ROXBURY, NJ - The Asian Diner in Ledgewood on Tuesday welcomed the public to the grand opening of its bar, offering free food and free music.

The 1,000-square-foot area will be used for more than just drinking beer, wine and cocktails, said Asian Diner owner Lily Chen. She said there will be different types of bands playing on Saturday nights, when the tables will be removed so people can dance and party.

The Asian Diner (a TAPinto Roxbury sponsor) is attached to the Quality Inn at 1691 Route 46. It offers a wide variety of Chinese, Japanese and Thai cuisine in an elegant setting that includes a substantially sized banquet room.

Entertaining those at Thursday's grand opening was pianist/vocalist Tony Bartone of Netcong.

Chen said the establishment is doing well. The restaurant has been the site for several Roxbury Chamber of Commerce luncheons and was recently the scene of the Roxbury Rotary Club's first charity art auction.
