ROXBURY, NJ - For Roxbury High School sports, Tuesday was one of those days to put in the rear view mirror as the volleyball, tennis and field hockey teams all sustained losses.
Field hockey dropped a close one to rival Randolph. Playing away, the Gaels lost 0-2 despite putting up a tough battle that saw both teams enter the second half scoreless.
Randolph's two scores came from free corner plays. Although Roxbury had a few chances to score, with a good offensive push at the end of the game, the offense couldn't put the ball in the goal. The loss left the Gaels' record at 3-2.
Volleyball fared a bit better, winning the first game against Morris Knolls 25-22, but losing the next two in the match 27-25 and 25-22. The 2-1 loss, at home, brought the Gaels season record to 4-3.
It was West Morris that beat Roxbury in Tennis. The Gaels lost 5-0 playing at West Morris.
