ROXBURY, NJ - It was a banner day Sept. 9 for the Remax First Choice Realtors II annual Paper Shredding and Dog Adoption Event in Succasunna. Owners Bernie Goodman and Patti DiGeronimo said they couldn't have asked for better weather or a better response to a day filled with container after container of paper needing recycling and the cutest dogs needing a new home.
"We raised over $6,000 dollars today while looking for some forever homes for dogs that needed adoption," said Goodman after all was counted. Everyone enjoyed the beautiful weather as they emptied their trunks of personal papers, old paperwork, bills and credit card statements and made a donation to a great cause, Eleventh Hour Rescue and their Building Hope Project.
"This event is a natural fit for my husband and I," added DiGeronimo, who says that she and Goodman do all they can to recycle any way possible. Also, as owners of two dogs themselves, Brooke and Jackie, these dog lovers devote endless hours of volunteer time to dogs in need of adopting.
'Eleventh Hour Rescue is grateful for the relentless support we receive from amazing folks who share our dedication in saving deserving animals that almost didn't get a chance to live," said Suzanne Ruffo of Eleventh Hour Rescue. "We could not carry our our mission to save these amazing animals without the generousity of these supporters."
Ruffo said people can visit the organization's adoption centers at the Rockaway Townsquare Mall seven days a week, and its Weekend Adoption Center at the Roxbury Mall (next to Petco) on Saturdays and Sundays.Eleventh Hour Rescue's headquarters is in Randolph on Route 10 East.
