ROXBURY, NJ – The Roxbury High School football team must now look to next Friday to find its bearings after enduring its second shut-out defeat yesterday.
Having lost 39-0 to Sparta in the first game of the season on Sept. 7, the Gaels fell 29-0 to Parsippany Hills.
The team found itself in a deep hole rather suddenly during the away game as Parsippany Hills’ quarterback J.D. Breslauer threw three touchdown passes in the first quarter.
The football team wasn’t the only sports squad from Roxbury to struggle with offense on Friday; the field hockey team was also shut out. The Gaels lost 2-0 to Morris Knolls for their first loss of the season.
Due to the rescheduling of its Sept. 17 game against Jefferson, the field hockey team is currently not scheduled to play again until Sept. 21, when it will take on Pope John XXIII at home.
