ROXBURY, NJ - The Roxbury Public Library is happy to announce that starting July 6 it is resuming passport service.

Here's how it's going to work:

  1. Save yourself some time and look through the U.S. State Department's extensive travel hub and passport information page here. Read closely all the COVID-19 news updates, especially the ones in red that say how much of a backlog the department is experiencing. To sum it up: if it's not life and death, you're probably not getting your passport in time for a summer trip. That said, and knowing how bad the backlog is, you might want to apply for or renew you passport now if you're hoping for a trip in the fall or winter.
  2. Reserve a time slot for passport service on the library's passport page here. A library passport agent will call you to go over your situation details, documentation etc so everybody's prepared and on the same page.
  3. Come to the library at your designated time and call (973)-584-2400 to inform of your arrival. A library passport agent will escort you inside.
  4. We will require all applicants over the age of two to wear a face covering for the duration of the appointment. The only exception is removing the mask in order to take a passport photo.
  5. Everyone entering the building will be required to fill out and sign a health questionnaire and submit to a temperature scan. Anyone with a 100.4 or higher fever will be denied entry, including everyone in that person's party.

There is going to be zero tolerance for anything that puts our staff in jeopardy. On-site staff is doing everything possible to keep each other and you safe. We except the same level of courtesy. In short, please don't ruin this for everyone else.
