ROXBURY, NJ – Getting home might be even rougher than usual this week for Roxbury residents who commute on Route 10. Lane closures may slow westbound traffic as the gets a facelift between Parsippany and Roxbury.

A nighttime paving and resurfacing project will continue through Friday to fix dilapidated portions of roadway, announced the state Department of Transportation (DOT).

A single lane will close at 8 p.m. near Route 53 in Parsippany through Hillside Avenue in Roxbury. Resurfacing will also affect portions of Morris Plains, Denville and Randolph.

In areas with three lanes, one will close at 8 p.m. and a second at 9 p.m. Route 10 is two lanes, but some sections have three. At least one lane will be open at all times during construction.

An approximate 10-mile stretch of roadway will be repaired. Ramps in this section will be blocked off as necessary, the DOT said, and drivers redirected to the next available exit.

Route 10 East will remain unaffected as it was resurfaced this summer.

Timing of this project is subject to change due to weather and other factors, according to the DOT.
