ROXBURY, NJ - The Roxbury 8U baseball team won the District 7 Championship this past week, a victory led by outstanding pitching and hot bats.

The 18-1 trouncing by the Junior Gaels over  the Wayne PAL team means Roxbury is advancing to the State Tournament.

Extraordinary pitching performances from Michael Paxos and Colin Donnelly shut down the Wayne offense.  At the plate, the Roxbury boys got on the scoreboard early and often with big hits from Christos Paxos, Luca Argenziano, Frankie Falco and Anthony Rizzo who also made a sparkling catch in left field.

The state tournament begins next week in Bridgewater.
