MORRISTOWN, NJ – Buoyed by two triples, a couple of doubles and plenty of other hits, the Roxbury High School baseball team on Friday defeated Morristown-Beard 9-1.

The triples were blasted by Ryan Ditrolio and Brandon Alfonso. On the mound, Jared Schimenti got the win, throwing 72 pitches. Michael Roumes helped the cause, throwing 12.

The win against the Crimson lifted the Gaels’ season record to 7-4 as the team prepares to battle rival Randolph on Monday. It came after a disappointing outing on April 21, when Roxbury lost to Seton Hall Prep 4-0.
