ROXBURY, NJ - A gorgeous day for baseball at their beloved home field was the cake for the Roxbury Gaels on Monday. The icing on top? A victory over Morristown.

Under blue skies, and with temperatures in the 70s, Roxbury displayed a team effort to defeat the Colonials 6-2. The win brought the Gaels' record to 4-0.

Starter Nick Danna pitched a solid game into the 4th inning, mid-reliever Jared Schimenti kept Morristown at bay for a couple more innings and then Tom Darling closed out the game in relief.

Roxbury scored early with 3 runs in the first and two more in the 5th. The offensive attack was led by Andy Axelson and Mike Roumes, who each had 2-hit games.

The Gaels next play Wednesday against Pope John XXIII.
