ROXBURY, NJ – With a win over Kinnelon, the Roxbury High School boys lacrosse team on Monday improved to 16-3 its already impressive record.
The Gaels played their game against the Colts on a wet grass field covered with goose droppings, but overcame the less-than-ideal conditions to win 10-5. The team heads into the state tournament seeded 2nd and plays West Windsor Plainsboro South on Wednesday at home.
Finding the goal might have been a little difficult for the Gaels early on, but they managed to find themselves on the upside of the matchup, a contest in which Eric D'Arminio reached the 100-goal milestone, joining longtime teammates Dave Biank and Paul Shadel in that achievement.
D’Arminio was the game’s high scorer, with three goals and two assists. Biank had two goals and two assists. Anthony Perhaps had two goals, Shadel had one goal and one assist, Matt Dancsecs and Zach Poissant each had a goal and an assist.
Roxbury goaltender Wayne Safreed made 13 saves
