ROXBURY, NJ - The Roxbury boys lacrosse team fought back from a 5-0 deficit after the first period today but failed to catch up to its West Morris Central opponents, eventually losing 13-5.

The Gaels scored two in the second period and seemed to have a chance when the first half ended with only a 4-goal differential. That thought quickly disappeared when the Wolfpack scored 5 more goals in the 3rd quarter to zero for the Gaels.

The game could not have ended soon enough for Roxbury even though it managed to score three goals in the 4th. During the game, Dave Biank, Matt Dansces, Grant Dixon, Zach Poissant, Bryan Thompson and Chris Dacey each scored one goal. Eric D'Arminio had one assist and goalie Brandon Maresca made nine saves while goalie Wayne Safreed had two.

The loss brings the Gaels’ record to 4-4. The team next plays Jefferson on Wednesday.
