Roxbury, NJ - The Roxbury boys lacrosse team trounced the bewildered Lenape Valley Patriots 17-6 yesterday in a game that was all Roxbury.
Not only did the Gaels leave the field in winning fashion, but attackman Dave Biank reached the century mark. As of April 20, there were only eight other players to reach this milestone in New Jersey and they are all seniors. Biank is the first junior to reach the century and the first on his team.
The Gaels started off shooting, but missed wide more times than the ball hit the net. Despite that, they ended the first quarter 4-0. Roxbury dominated the field on both ends, not allowing Lenape Valley to posses the ball for very long and allowing Lenape only one goal the entire first half.
One more Roxbury game milestone happened during the game when Matt Dansces scored 6 goals.
Many players who have not seen time on the field in a varsity game did so in this game. Justin Pickett, Ryan Johnson and Bryan Thompson each scored a goal and Ryan Feshal had 2 assists.
