Roxbury Choir Director and Students Honored at All-State Choir Credits: Roxbury High School

ROXBURY, NJ - Fourteen Roxbury students performed a concert in Atlantic City last weekend for the New Jersey All-State Mixed Choir. This prestigious ensemble is comprised of the top singers across the state of New Jersey.

Congratulations to Alec Burns (Gr 11), Cassidy Gilroy (Gr 12), Bryan Gonzalez (Gr 11), Ian Hachey (Gr 11), Ivan Largo (Gr 11), Matthew Malsbury (Gr 10), Kyle Massage (Gr 12), Storm Moeller (Gr 12), Hannah Kennedy (Gr 12), Austin Kurbansade (Gr 11), Christopher Scire (Gr 11), Andrew Velasquez (Gr 11), Danielle Wachter (Gr 12 - not pictured), and Jacob Wood (Gr 11).

This year, Roxbury’s own Patrick Hachey, RHS Vocal Music Teacher and Lead Performing Arts Teacher, was given the prestigious honor of directing the All-State Choir. Conductors are chosen through a rigorous application process and only one is selected each year to work with the ensemble.

The All-State Choir will perform another concert this Sunday, Nov. 19, at 3:00 p.m. at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center. Tickets are available through the NJPAC website.

The purpose of NJ All-State Chorus is to offer a unique educational experience to the best-qualified vocal students in New Jersey. Accepted students will perform choral literature of the highest quality, under the direction of an outstanding conductor.
