State-Administered Program Raises the Standard of Quality Child Care and Early Learning Across New Jersey.
ROXBURY, NJ - Roxbury Day Care Center, Inc., a private, non-profit organization dedicated to providing full-day care for children ages six weeks through five years, recently received a 4-star rating for its successful completion of the rigorous, research-based Grow NJ Kids quality rating program.
Grow NJ Kids is New Jersey’s Quality Rating and Improvement System (QRIS). It offers child care and early learning programs access to training, professional development, staff scholarships for continuing education and targeted technical assistance.
Professional raters visit the program to review quality standards and then program participants receive ratings – up to five stars – by meeting an extensive list of quality benchmarks.
Roxbury Day Care Center, on Righter Road in Succasunna, provides a warm, nurturing, educational environment. Its philosophy is to uphold the dignity of the individual child. The Center serves clients from Roxbury Township and the surrounding communities.
More than 40 states across the country have a form of QRIS. In New Jersey, the program is administered by the state departments of Children and Families, Education, Health and Human Services.
The rating will help further the school’s mission to provide quality child care for all families in the community in a warm, nurturing, loving, and educational environment. The child care needs of all economic levels are served, enabling families to obtain employment or to further their education.
“I am so proud of the hard-dedicated work the staff has done to make this successful," said Roxbury Day Care Center Executive Director Alicia Knight. "We truly appreciate all the families’ dedication to the Center while we went through this rating process as it is not an easy one. The process is very time-consuming, but with such an amazing staff who dedicated their time every day to the Center we can accomplish anything including Grow NJ Kids!”
“Grow NJ Kids offers resources to help educate parents on the importance of quality child care and early childhood education,” said Andrea Breitwieser, Grow NJ Kids Coordinator. “It also gives parents and families the tools needed to find programs that will make the most of their kid’s early learning experiences.
"Roxbury Day Care Center should be proud of their rating, as participation in Grow NJ Kids indicates they provide a higher standard of care, exceeding New Jersey’s licensing standards."
