ROXBURY, NJ - In a blowout game at Mennen Arena yesterday that included a hat trick by Zach Mazzarisi, the Roxbury Gaels boys hockey team crushed their Pequannock opponents 9-2.

Roxbury scored three goals in the first period, four in the middle frame and two in the third. Pequannock could only manage to net the puck once in the second period and once in the last.

Leading the Gaels' domination was Mazzarisi, who scored three goals, while six of his teammates added to the tally with single goals of their own. Roxbury goaltender Connor Mutz had 16 saves on 18 attempts while his counterpart for Pequannock, Dylan Knighton, stopped 21 of Roxbury's 30 shots.

The Gaels take to the ice again Jan. 24 with a home game against Howell.
