ROXBURY - It was a cold and busy Wednesday morning for Roxbury fire and first-aid personnel as they were called to a medical emergency while on the scene of a car fire.
Firefighters from Roxbury Fire and First Aid Company 2 were dispatched to Route 80 westbound, near Mile 27, to handle a car fire. While there, they got a call for a medical emergency elsewhere in town, according to their post on Facebook.
"The crew of five made a quick knock-down and cleared the scene in less than 30 minutes," said the firefighters. But their work was not done. According to the fire department, the crew was dispatched to the medical call as it was dousing the car's flames and it managed to take care of both matters: "While fighting the car fire we also received a call for a medical emergency in town and answered that as well," said the Facebook post.
