ROXBURY, NJ - People wishing to help those in Texas impacted by Hurricane Harvey can donate needed items at a firehouse in Roxbury, it was announced on Thursday.
Roxbury Chemical Engine Co. 1 partnered with Hermann Cares, a Dayton, N.J.-based philanthropic arm of Hermann Total Distribution Service, in the collection effort. Although the main Hermann Cares drop-off place for donated items is in South Brunswick, Roxbury firefighters and emergency medical personnel will gather material in Succasunna.
Donations can be brought, at any time, to the firehouse at 122 Main Street and left in the lobby, the fire company said. The Roxbury collection effort will continue through Sept. 6.
The fire company is asking that people donate only new/unopened items. The items needed are listed here:
- soap/body wash

- Q-tips and cotton balls
- feminine hygiene products
- razors and shaving cream
