ROXBURY, NJ - The Roxbury boys lacrosse team broke a school record for consecutive wins today as the Gaels rumbled past the Lenape Valley Patriots in a 15-4 trouncing, their eighth victory in a row.
Roxbury (8-1) was caught off guard with an early first quarter Lenape goal, but then went on a scoring spree that put the Gaels up 9-2 at half time.
It didn't take much time into the 3rd quarter for the Gaels to be on top by 12 goals, creating a running clock taking away any come-back opportunity for the Patriots, who were led by former Roxbury lacrosse coach and current Roxbury teacher and football coach Steven Donnelly.
In the game, Paul Shadel scored four goals and one assist, Matt Fiebel scored three goals and two assists, Matt Dansecs scored two goals and one assist, Chris Snow scored two goals and one assist, Dave Biank scored two goals, Eric D'Arminio had a goal and an assist, Anthony Perhacs had one goal and Will Doran got an assist
Goaltenders Colin Armstrong and Luke Rowe each made four saves.uke Rowe: 4 saves.
An away game against Morris Knolls on Monday (April 20) is next on the Gaels' agenda.
