ROXBURY, NJ – Playing Morris Knolls, the Roxbury High School girls soccer team chalked up its fourth consecutive shutout Wednesday, but its counterpart on the volleyball court was defeated.
The soccer team enjoyed a 2-0 win over Morris Knolls at home. The two points were off kicks by the Gaels’ Ashleigh Sarafin. Jaclyn Katzenberger had an assist.
The win sets up the soccer players for a 6 p.m. appearance Friday, Oct. 2 in a Morris County Tournament game at home against Parsippany Hills. The Gaels are now 5-2-1.
The volleyballers didn’t do as well, losing to Morris Hills. It was their second loss of the season. In the 2-0 match, Morris Hills easily beat the Gaels in the second game, 25-11, but had a tougher time in the first which ended with a score of 26-24.
The 7-2 soccer team plays again at 4 p.m. Friday in an away match against Parsippany Hills.
