ROXBURY, NJ - art students from Roxbury High School recently showed work at two art exhibitions.

William Paterson University High School ArtStart Exhibition 2017 displayed pieces from Jan. 21 through Feb. 4 at the Power Art Building Gallery. Twenty-eight participating New Jersey high schools had artwork at the show.

Six seniors displayed artwork: Zoe Paxos, Kahli Suggs-Barnes, Flynn Forester, Jessica Schaub, Leanna Bacani and Shannon Rickley.

Paxos earned first place for a black and white drawing of graphite on paper. Leanna Bacani and Kahli Suggs-Barnes placed second, Bacini for her oil paint on wood panels and Suggs-Barnes for her digital process of graphic design.

RHS students also showed work at the MPAC Student Art Gallery Exhibit in the 8th Annual Program Cover Art Contest. This year’s gallery and contest theme was “Imagine! Discover! Create!”.

The MPAC Student Art Gallery Exhibit is on display in the upstairs Art Gallery now through March 14 and will be seen by tens of thousands of theater patrons.

Artists in attendance at the MPAC Exhibit included Monica Roman, Alex Freeman, Kate Rawlinson Michelle Lad, Cyle Morris, Hannah Smith, Samantha Roy and Kate McClosky.
