MORRIS TWP., - After a scoreless first period in its game Thursday against Chatham, the Roxbury High School ice hockey team ran into trouble, eventually losing 4-1.

The loss at Mennen Sports Arena brought the Gaels' record to 13-4.

Roxbury's sole goal was an unassisted shot at 2:12 in the second period when Nick Zaragoza banged the puck past Chatham goalie James Boles. But Chatham player Alex Laferriere scored two goals in the middle frame, both coming off assists by teammates David Andrechuk and  Evan Schmidt.

The Gaels failed to score for the rest of the game. Chatham went on to get two more points in the final period. Roxbury goaltender A.J. Pisano made 25 saves. Chatham's Boles made 18.

Roxbury next plays Mendham on Jan. 26 at 8:15 p.m. at Mennen.
