ROXBURY, NJ - A jubilant Roxbury High School boys lacrosse team on Saturday did something that's proven to be impossible in the past: It beat West Morris Central.
Not only did the Gaels defeat the Wolfpack, but they did it convincingly - with an 8-4 pounding. Both Eric D'Arminio and Paul Shadel scored three goals during the game. The other two were hurled by Dave Biank, who also made two assists.
The game was a big one for Shadel, a senior, who used the occasion to score his 100th career goal.
Roxbury goaltender Wayne Safreed made 13 saves.
The Gaels scored in all four periods and their defenders prevented West Morris from scoring in all but the second. With the win, Roxbury goes t o 5-1. It next plays Tuesday against Mountain Lakes.
