ROXBURY, NJ - Steven Daniel Young, a volunteer who helps clean the streets of Roxbury, recently received the “Volunteer Award” from the New Jersey Clean Communities Council (NJCCC) for his dedication to keeping the streets trash free.

Young helps clean the streets of Roxbury by picking up and properly disposing of littered cigarette butts and by recycling the plastic bottles, bags and cans he finds. He picks up about a full garbage can's worth of waste every week.

“If everyone had similar determination to help the environment as much as Steven, the streets throughout the entire nation would be thoroughly removed of trash," said NJCCC Executive Director Sandy Huber. "We are all very proud of him.”

NJCCC is a comprehensive, statewide litter-abatement  program that  has  served New  Jersey  residents  and  visitors  for  more  than  25  years. Learn more at njclean.org.
