ROXBURY, NJ - The Roxbury Township Board of Education recently recognized 30 professional and support staff members who retired throughout the 2016/2017 school year. Collectively, they contributed 460 years to the education and support of the students in Roxbury and 593 years in education overall.

The Roxbury administration and board of education wished all retirees the best of luck in their retirement. The 2016/2017 retiring certificated personnel includes administrators, teachers, and counselors. They are:

The board also recognized a few other individuals and teams from Roxbury High School.

Roxbury High School Athletic Trainer, Joseph Koch was presented the 2017 Newall National Athletic Trainer of the Year Award by Dr. Claudia Ginsburg from Tri-County Orthopedic in Morristown.

“The Newell National Athletic Trainer of the Year Award recognizes athletic trainers for the service and leadership they provide local athletic communities," according to the Newell Award’s website. "In partnership with lead orthopedic practices, one local athletic trainer from each participating region is selected to be considered for the Newall National Athletic Trainer of the Year Award. The award is based on examples of service, leadership, and shared experiences from community members."

Koch was awarded $2,500 for Roxbury High School and $10,000 as the National Award recipient.

Roxbury High School Principal Jeff Swanson acknowledged the Class of 2017 Valedictorian Kaley Ubellacker and Salutatorian Jessica Miklinski. 

High school athletic director Stuart Mason recognized and presented plaques to three spring sports teams who all excelled this past season. Coach Christopher Blough spoke on behalf of the boys lacrosse team as it was the 2017 NJAC National Division Champion and NJILL Riszk Division Champion.

Retiring teacher and head boys’ golf coach Bruce Heike shared his accolades for the 2017 NJAC National Division co-champions and head baseball coach Gregory Trotter recognized some of his players from this year’s 2017 NJAC National Division champions.
