CHATHAM, NJ - The Roxbury High School boys soccer team edged past its Chatham opponents Sunday to advance in the Morris County Tournament.
The Gaels, ranked 20th, beat the 13th-seed Cougars by the slimmest of margins, winning 1-0 in overtime on a goal by Doddi Pincay. Ryan Hayford chalked up the assist.
Manning the goal during the preliminary round tournament game was Julian Randall. He made 11 saves, a defensive performance that helped Roxbury make it to a first-round tournament game on Oct. 1 against fourth-seeded Morris Catholic. That game will be 1 p.m. in Denville.
The Gaels are now 2-3 for the season.
