MORRISTOWN, NJ - The Roxbury High School Softball team cruised to an 8-1 victory over Morristown Monday, bringing its season record to 3-2.
Gaels hurler Kayla Corrente pitched three scoreless innings and Emily Song pitched four, giving up just one run while striking out seven.
Emily Song had three hits and Hailey Womer added two hits and three RBI to lead the way for Roxbury.
Natalie Decena and Jesse Michaels had two hits each.
Roxbury held the Minutemen scoreless until the fifth inning. But by then, the Gaels had six on the scoreboard. They went on to make two more in the sixth and Morristown failed to make a comeback in the final frame.
The Gaels are back in action on Wednesday against Pope John XXIII.
