ROXBURY, NJ – There was a good turnout Sunday at the third annual VFW Post 2833 Corned Beef and Cabbage fundraiser.
Green was everywhere at the event, including in the cash drawer. Even before members of the post in Kenvil stopped serving food, the folks in charge of counting the number of dinners sold this year said they were doing better than they did in 2016.
“We’re probably up by a third or a quarter,” said VFW member Bob Mederos. The post sold at least 100 dinners at $15 each. Last year about 80 were sold, he said.
