ROXBURY, NJ - To celebrate the hiring of a new chef, Legends Ale House in Succasunna is hosting its first annual Buffalo Chicken Wing Eating Contest on Sept. 9 and it plans to donate all proceeds to Kenvil VFW Post 2833.
The restaurant, in Roxbury Mall, said the contest will be a great way to display the cooking skills of its new chef, Rob Bromberg.
It said Bromberg, a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America, has 17 years of “top-notch experience … having worked in such positions as private chef to celebrities, as well as a top chef and partner at a restaurant in Hoboken.” Bromberg “aspires to bring more of a gastro pub and new york city smokehouse vibe to Legends,” said the restaurant.
At the Buffalo Chicken Wing Eating Contest, contestants “will face off to see who can finish their plate of Chef Rob’s chicken wings the fastest,” said Legends. There will be prizes and giveaways for winners. The contest is slated to begin at 3 p.m. People interested in competing can sign-up through an online form. There is a $10 entry fee.
Bromberg plans to bring freshly made soups, burgers and more to Legends. “His first order of business is the addition of a new smokehouse menu to Legends line-up of american style food and extensive draft beer list,” according to the restaurant.
“To become a great chef you have had to work for great chefs and that's what I did,” Bromberg said, in a statement. “There is no great chef without a great team and that’s what I have here at Legends. We have culinary professionals that love their craft.”
