ROXBURY, NJ - Roxbury High School Juniors Grace Distano and Daniela Mantilla were selected recently by the Roxbury Woman’s Club to get a taste of college life and explore their career options.

Distano and Mantilla were chosen by the club to attend the Girls’ Career Institute (GCI) at Rutgers Douglass Residential College in New Brunswick June 5 through June 8. Emily Mayor was chosen as the alternate delegate.

The 4-day event, sponsored by the New Jersey State Federation of Woman’s Clubs (NJSFWC), offers high school juniors a ‘mini-college’ experience where they live in dorm rooms, attend presentations and workshops, explore women’s issues and career options, take part in a service project and meet other young women with similar goals.

The Roxbury delegates are joining other young women from throughout the state including 22 sponsored by clubs also located in the Highlands District, which makes up most of Morris County and parts of Sussex and Warren Counties.
