ROXBURY, NJ - Roxbury High School senior Reghan Palanchi has signed to play Division I volleyball with Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, Conn.
Roxbury volleyball coach Anthony McMichael offered congratulations and said he was thrilled to have been a part of Palanchi's high school experience.
"We are extremely proud of Reghan's accomplishments both on and off the volleyball court," McMichael said. "Reghan helped lead our program to the 2014 NJAC National Division Championship and the 2015 Morris County Championship. She also received All-State honors in 2016, First Team All-Daily Record honors in 2016, and twice received All-Conference honors in 2015 and 2016."
Palanchi returned the kind words. "I am blessed to have been a part of the Roxbury volleyball family," she said. "Over the last four years I have grown as a player and a person with the help of my coaches and teammates. My coaches always pushed me to reach my full potential and believed in me from the start. The memories I made with my teammates were unforgettable. They are part of the reason I stuck with the sport."
Palanchi said she was also thankful for her my club volleyball teammates and coaches, who helped take her to "the next level" of volleyball. "The amount of support I have received over the years is incredible, and I want to thank everyone that has been a part of it."
McMichael described Palanchi as "a great teammate and leader,"who always gave credit to others" when she and the Gaels succeeded. "Reghan is truly a team-first player that will be greatly missed," said the coach. "We wish her nothing but the best in the classroom and on the volleyball court at Sacred Heart University."
