SOUTH PLAINFIELD, NJ - Roxbury High School senior Olivia Viparina places sixth in the state today at the prestigious Meet of Champions track and field event.

Viparina ran the 3200-meter race in 10:40.1, a time described by Roxbury High School Indoor Track Coach Laura Myers Schmidt on Twitter as being "a HUGE" personal record, 12 seconds faster than her prior personal record. The race was won by Nottingham's Grace Dwyer with a time of 10:21.46.

Roxbury sent six athletes to the Meet of Champions. One of them, junior Dan Giuliano, placed 18th in the state in the 110 high hurdles. Another, sophomore Alexis "Lexi" Smith placed 12th in the 400-meter race, and a 4 X 400 relay team of Smith, junior Daniella Carter, senior Tiffany Larusso and junior Niki Alford placed 23rd in the state "to finish up another great season", tweeted Schmidt.
