Some of the topics to be covered include ways to improve and enhance a performance, songwriting techniques/methods, marketing activities and the use of social media in addition to the essentials an artist should know about gigging and recording their original music.

As one of SSG's primary goals is to strengthen relationships amongst the singer/songwriter community in our area, there will be ample opportunities for local and area singer/songwriters to meet with other like minded individuals interested and involved in creating and appreciating original music.

The Keynote Address will be presented by Adam Pollock and Vinny Rich, principals of Creative Entertainment Network/SonyMusic Independent Network (CEN). Mr. Pollock and Mr. Rich "have both been artist managers at some point in their careers, and as such approach their dealings with their artist clients from a management perspective. Additionally, as musicians, road managers, and signed artists themselves, the CEN principals are intimately familiar with all of the highs and lows of the life of the working musician," indicates the CEN website.

A special workshop and evening concert will be presented by The Levins, a "contemporary folk duo [offering] harmony-driven acoustic music that is warm and uplifting without skating over life's complexities. Their music connects on a universal level with a lighthearted depth and celebrates our common humanity," as stated on the group's website.
