ROXBURY, NJ — The Succasunna-based St. Therese Knights of Columbus (KOC) is accepting applications for three scholarships this year, the organization announced today.
The KOC Council’s 2021 Memorial Scholarship Program is open to children or grandchildren of current or deceased members of KOC Council 6320. Applicants must be graduating high school seniors who must accept and attend a 2-year or 4-year college or university or post-secondary school trade or technical school in 2021, said the KOC.
It said it will be awarding three, $1,000 grants to be used in the winners’ freshman years.
Completed applications and other required information must be sent by May 21 to John McDonnell, 18 East Circuit Drive, Succasunna, NJ 07876-1962 (firstname.lastname@example.org).
To get an application or ask questions, email McDonnell or John Wolf at email@example.com.
“I will … remove all identifying information (i.e., name, address, social security number and name of Brother Knight) and forward the application to the scholarship committee to assure anonymity during the review process,” McDonnell said.
The scholarships will be announced by mid-June 2021.
The applicant must complete all sections of the application and obtain two letters of recommendation from non-family members who can attest to his/her character, McDonnell noted.
“We are excited about our council’s scholarship program, and hope that you will encourage your daughter, son, granddaughter or grandson to apply,” McDonnell said.
