Still Time to Register for Roxbury Soccer Fun Day

ROXBURY, NJ - Early registration for the second annual Roxbury Soccer Fun Day ends Aug. 15, but the Roxbury High School Boys Soccer Association said those who miss the deadline can register at the event.

This year's Soccer Fun Day, a fundraiser for the high school teams, will take place Aug. 19 at the Roxbury High School soccer fields. The rain date is Aug. 20.

The 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. event will feature soccer activities based on age groups, starting with 8 and under. There will be a 9-to-11 group, a 12-to14 group and a "coaches category" for adults, said the association.

Events will include soccer ball juggling, penalty kicks, dribbling, longest goal kick, longest throw-in, shooting, sprints and a chance to scrimmage against the high school players. There will be participation gifts and age-group winner ribbons.

The fee is $10 per participant or $20 per family. Those attending will get a water bottle and a hot dog at noon.

The Soccer Fun Day is open to all, even those not living in Roxbury.
