ROXBURY, NJ – As if her relentless pursuit of musicians to play local concerts isn’t enough, Cindy Donaldson’s role as an Allstate agent recently helped add much needed cash to the Roxbury Arts Alliance bank account.

Donaldson, who has an office in Succasunna, applied for and received from the Allstate Foundation a $1,000 grant for the alliance. The foundation gave the money to honor Donaldson’s volunteer efforts with the arts group.

“Allstate has an application for the Good Hands in the Community grant,” said Donaldson. “Any agent who volunteers can apply for a GHTC to give the money to the place where they volunteer.”

The Long Valley resident said she had to fill out an application and forward it to arts alliance, which confirmed her volunteer efforts and mailed it to the foundation. “A few months later we got word we were granted the money,” said Donaldson. She said she is proud to volunteer for the group because “it’s an important way to give back” to the community.

In awarding the grant, the foundation said it was “pleased to partner with Allstate and their commitment to making our hometowns better, safer places to live.”
