Mt. Olive, NJ – The Roxbury boys lacrosse team’s season got off to a disappointing start Wednesday with a 12-4 loss to neighboring Mt. Olive.

Mount Olive took an early lead, ending the first period with four goals to the Gaels’ one.  Roxbury defense did a better job in the next frame, allowing only one goal, while the offense tacked on another point.

But the 5-2 situation worsened dramatically in the third period when the Gaels scored no goals as Mt. Olive found the net five times.  Each team scored two in the final quarter.

The team takes to the field next on Saturday afternoon in a home game against Glen Rock.
