Mad Science Spring Break – Join Mad Science to create and imagine some fun and exciting adventures in science! Discover potential and kinetic energy, explore electrical circuits, simple machines and create a wacky invention using everyday items.

Then we’ll get shipwrecked on Mad Science Island where we will survive and thrive using some of the scientific ideas we have learned, mixed with our own engineering and imagination! Fun take-homes are included in this two-morning adventure!

This camp is for grades 1-5 from 9:30-12:30 at Roxbury High School on April 19-20, 2017. Tuition is $95 per participant. Register at

Spring Programs for Children

Garden Club at Kennedy School – Spring and Summer

Participants can attend one monthly session, two or all three of the Gardening Club at the Kennedy School Garden for grades PreK-4 after school in May, June, and July.

This program meets rain or shine. These courses in gardening cover basic knowledge, technique, and practical skills for gardening in the spring and summer.

This program is open to all elementary school students, Roxbury and non-Roxbury residents alike! Transportation to Kennedy School must be provided by the parents. Tuition is $90 per session per student. Register online at

Hip Hop Dance After School at Franklin School

For all your little movers and shakers, we are offering Hip Hop Dance classes at Franklin School where children learn high energy dances driven by a beat. This eclectic street style of dance teaches dynamic moves that are fast, stylish, funky and similar to those seen in music videos. Students will work on their strength, flexibility, and musicality through intricate fun and fast-paced funky choreography which provides a great cardio workout and a fun way to exercise their mind and memory!

This after school program is for Franklin students only. Tuition is $75 per student. Register online at

Irish Dance Lessons for Grades K-4 – Spring

This program is instructed by certified Irish Dance Instructor, Emily Endean. Emily teaches students to dance in a fun and supportive atmosphere. This program teaches the basic fundamentals of Irish Dance. During this 6-week program, students will learn how to confidently work independently and as part of a team. Students will learn a new dance style and make new friends while having fun.

This program is open to all elementary school students, Roxbury and non-Roxbury residents alike! Transportation to Kennedy School must be provided by the parents. Tuition is $60 per participant. Register online at

Kiddie Soccer for Ages 3 ½ to 6

Register for this seasonal 8-week program through Kiddie Soccer for your preschool/kindergarten aged child. The program teaches a series of fun, thematic games designed to teach the children the very basics of soccer. Spring sessions meet on Sundays starting April 9th at the Lincoln/Roosevelt Field. Kujenga Robotics and Coding After School for K-6

Coding is the new literacy! Kujenga teaches programming to young students using robotics, Scratch Jr., and Scratch. Learning to code helps young people think creatively and reason systematically. This after school program is available starting soon at the K-6 schools in Roxbury. Tuition is $80 per student for this 6-week program. Register online at

Mad Science After-School Programs for Grades K-6

Register your K-4 student now for Mad Science’s 6-week spring program on Experimentamania! and your 5/6 grader for Spy Academy beginning the week of April 10th. Mad Science students engage in fun, interactive, and educational hands-on science activities that instill a clearer understanding of science and how it affects the world around them. Each week participants make and take home a different science project. Tuition is $90 per student and students are required to register for the session at the school they attend. Recreational Dance After School at Jefferson School

Join the Accents on Dance Studio in this new program for boys and girls in grades K-4. This program is a win/win opportunity for both parents and children. This class will expose dancers to Jazz, Musical Theatre, and Lyrical forms of dance. Parents are invited to the last class to see a student performance. This after school program is for Jefferson students only and begins April 26th. Tuition is $75 per student. Register online at

Tech Club After School at L/R

This tech club session is all about rockets! Learn about the science and engineering of them! Build and launch a single engine rocket complete with a parachute in this hands-on STEM experience for grades 5-6. This 6-week program begins April 26th. Tuition is $55 per student. Register online at

Young Rembrandts After-School Programs for Grades K-4 – Register your K-4 student now for Young Rembrandts’ 6-week spring program that teaches the basics of drawing in a fun confidence-boosting way! Classes are due to begin the week of April 24th, so sign up now to save your child’s spot! Tuition is $92 per student and includes the cost of materials, instruction, and fun! Summer Camps for Children

Accents on Dance Classes

Register now for one or more of this summer’s August dance camps through the Accents on Dance Studio in Succasunna, NJ. This summer’s classes include American Girl Dance Around the World Camp for ages 5-7 at $160 per student, Princess Tea Party Camp for ages 3-5 at $160 per student, and Broadway Intensive for ages 11+ at $170 per student. These camps take place at the dance studio located at 139 Route 10 East in Succasunna.

Broadway Bound/Behind the Curtain

Broadway Bound - Get ready to delve into the theatre, as we prepare for a summer performance of Peter Pan Jr. Students will learn dialogue, music, blocking, and choreography, culminating in a public performance of this classic story at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, July 28th. This is a half-day (9 a.m.-1 p.m.) 4-week program beginning July 5th. Tuition cost is $440 per student.

Behind the Curtain - Put your creativity to work and see it put to wonderful use! Students will create scenery, masks, and props for the musical show that will be performed by the BROADWAY BOUND students at the end of the summer program. This is a half-day (1:00-4:30 p.m.) 4-week program beginning July 5th. Tuition cost is $385 per student.

Calling All Kids (Ages 3-5)

The program is designed to meet the developmental needs of students ages 3-5 (PreK and Kindergarten). Each day the program meets, a variety of components are integrated into the course of the day. These components include, but are not limited to morning meeting, literacy lesson, which integrates the curriculum areas, gross motor/movement lesson, fine motor development through a variety of hands-on projects, reinforcement of socialization and life skills. This program will include music, dance, free-play, story time, arts and craftsAll children MUST be toilet trained and 3 years old as of October 1, 2016. Half and Full Day options available for this 5-week program. Tuition: half day is $575 per child and full day is $1,250. Transportation and extended day options available. Register before April 7th to be eligible for an early bird discount as well!

Enrichment Camp (Grades 1-8)

Join us for a Summer Enrichment program filled with trips, visits twice a week to Horseshoe Lake, as well as enjoying the Broadway Bound performance at the end of July. All students and parents are invited to the Broadway Bound performance! With a focus on fun, students engage in hands-on academic and social activities to enhance their skills and make long-lasting friendships. The Summer Enrichment program schedules include courses in ELA, Math, Physical Education, Art, Science, and Computer Literacy. Students rotate through the courses throughout the day. Half and Full Day options available for this 5-week program. Tuition: half day is $750 per child and full day is $1,250. Transportation and extended day options available. Register before April 7th to be eligible for an early bird discount as well!

Ceramics Camp (Grades 1-8)

During the weeks of summer ceramics classes’ students will be learning hand building, pottery techniques for making ceramic forms which may include self-portraits of them, animal’s features, clay faces, slab masks sculpting lessons, pottery forms like bases, bowls, or plates. They will use slabs and coils to model and mold projects, and colorful under glazes to complete their work. All work will be fired in the kiln. All materials are supplied. This two-week camp begins August 7th. Available times are based on student’s grade level. Tuition is $150 per student.

July Garden Club at Kennedy School (Grades PreK-4)

Join us in July for the Gardening Club at the Kennedy School Garden for grades PreK-4. This program meets rain or shine. Kujenga Robotics and Coding

The Roxbury Community School has teamed up once again with KUJENGA, an educational entity designed to bring robotics, coding, engineering and science skills to all students in order to prepare them for the technology-driven future. Kujenga is the Swahili word for "build" or "create". All Kujenga Summer Camps will be held at Lincoln/Roosevelt School. Classes include Lego WeDo Robotics, Coding with Scratch and Python, and Textrix Robotics for Middle School. Tuition is $199/week for half day AM or PM sessions or $339/week for full day sessions.

Leadership and Empowerment Camp (Grades 5-9)

This camp is designed to develop a student's leadership abilities and empower them with knowledge and skills to help them be an integral part of society. By the end of this camp, students will have First Aid/CPR/AED and Babysitting certifications, developed practical office work skills including email and phone etiquette, participated in several programs with guest speakers to work with them on their roles as future leaders and how to be one, and developed interpersonal and decision-making skills and more! Students will be encouraged to set examples by doing a community service project. This 6-week camp at Roxbury High School will teach the children about being peer leader moving forward. Tuition is $500 per student.

Lights, Camera, Action! (Grades 5-11)

Participants will work in a group to create an original short film using a genre of their choice and will walk away from this course knowing how to operate a camera. This is a hands-on project-based learning course which will prepare the student for life beyond school. Multiple week options available in July. Tuition is $250 per student per week. Register before April 1st to be eligible for an early bird discount as well!

Mad Science (Grades K-6)

Register your elementary-aged student now for Mad Science’s August summer camps. Different programs are offered each week. Class topics include Brixology, Inventation-ation, Slimy Potions, Spy Academy, and NASA Academy of Future Space Explorers. Dates and times can be found online. Full day camps available. Tuition is $180-300 per student depending on program.

STEAM/Innovation Camps (Grades 5+)

Dive head first into STEAM in this interactive, hands-on summer instructional camp! Students will be exposed to the basic building blocks and principles of STEAM by exploring a new STEAM based topic each day. While each day will start with an introduction of the day's topic, students who have STEAM experience may move to more advanced projects at the instructor's discretion. So whether you are new to STEAM or have already had it at EMS, this camp offers something for all experience levels! This week long camp begins in July. Tuition ranges from $100-$300 depending on the number of sessions you register for!

June Tennis Camps with Coach Harlan

Tennis lessons are available for boys and girls ages 5-16 and teaches the skills necessary for the sport and to provide the opportunity to utilize these skills through group participation. Space is limited so sign up now for this June’s tennis camps with Coach Bruce Harlan. All tennis camps are held at Kiwanis Park off Eyland Avenue. Tuition is $40-55 per student based on which week you register for.

July Tennis Camp with Coach Miller

The goal of Coach Miller’s camp is to help build the sport of tennis in the Roxbury community. Coach Miller has a high level of enthusiasm and has experience instructing kids of all age groups. He loves teaching and coaching but most of all he wants to create a passion for a sport that can be enjoyed for a lifetime. Three Weeks of Camps to choose from! Beginners to advanced players are welcome! Each camp will be grouped with other players at his/her skill level. Emphasis will be on drills, match play, strategy, and singles and doubles instruction. All tennis camps are held at Kiwanis Park off Eyland Avenue. Tuition ranges from $60-125 depending on age level.

Writers’ Workshop Fun in the Sun (Grades 8-9)

Students will work over the four days to produce a writing sample. Students will create a writing sample with 1:1 teacher conferences to help their writing reach a new level. Students will be challenged with writing prompts as well as exploring their own creativity. By the end of the course, students will improve on their own style of writing. Multiple week options and topics available in July. Tuition is $150 per student per week. Register before April 1st to be eligible for an early bird discount as well!

Young Rembrandts (Grades 1-5)

Register your elementary-aged student now for Young Rembrandts’ August summer camps. Different programs are offered each week. Class topics include Favorite Apps and Video Games, Monsters Creatures and Creeps,  Ocean Life, World of Dinosaurs, and Fashions, Faces, and Flowers. Dates and times can be found online. College Essay Writing Lessons 1-on-1 with Mrs. Rispoli

Is your Sophomore/Junior/Senior looking for one-on-one instruction to sharpen their writing skills and prepare for the college essay writing process? Well, here’s your chance! The Roxbury Community School is hosting five, 3-day workshops this July and August at Roxbury High School with RHS English faculty, Mrs. Maria Rispoli. Summer Financial Literacy for Roxbury High Schools Students

The NJDOE has mandated that all students are required to complete a course (2.5 credits) in Financial Literacy to be eligible for graduation. Due to the number of students requesting to take this course, we have decided to offer the class as an online summer course as well as the traditional Financial Literacy course at RHS. This course will be available to RHS rising juniors and seniors only during the summer of 2017. The course will begin on July 5th and run approximately seven weeks. This interactive course will include writing assignments, labs, quizzes, and tests. The final exam must be taken in person at RHS during the week of August 14th. Tuition is $90 per student. Learn what the pros look for, how to prepare, and where to find work in your area! You’ll even have an opportunity to record a short professional script under the direction of a teacher. Stop Smoking, Lose Weight, and Relax through Hypnosis with Barry Wolfson

Through hypnosis, smoking cessation, losing weight, and relaxing is easily and painlessly achieved in one-hour sessions. Choose one or all three sessions to register for! Yoga for Beginners

Join this beginner class that introduces you to the fundamentals principles of alignment and breath work in a flow of postures linked together by the breath. Students will be introduced to yoga postures through step-by-step verbal description and demonstration. If you have never tried yoga, this is the class for you! It is designed to meet the needs of those new to yoga as well as those seeking continued understanding of basic yoga poses. This course is ideal for teens and adults. Yoga for Beginners is a 10-week class that meets on Tuesdays beginning April 11th from 6:30-7:30 p.m. at Franklin School. Cost is $100 for 10 classes. ROXBURY, NJ - One of our favorite things we do at Dezine Line in Ledgewood is offering tours to the local Girl Scout troops. We've done these since 1990 and must have seen 1,000 kids come thru. We have also had a few Boy Scouts and home school groups here as well!

The kids see how everything is done, step by step, and finish by printing their own tee shirts.
