ROXBURY, NJ – Eleven Roxbury High School wrestlers, who helped take the school to a team championship in Saturday’s district tournament, are now gearing up for the NJSIAA Region 2 competition taking place at Mount Olive next weekend.

Roxbury had five wrestlers finish in first place at Saturday’s District 7 tournament. Three finished in second place and three finished in third place. The Gaels came out on top of the team standings with 218.5 points.

The performance resulted in Roxbury High School Wrestling Coach Jim Dolan being named coach of the year and Roxbury High School Assistant Wrestling Coach Dave Monaco being named assistant coach of the year.

Wrestlers taking first place victories at the District matches were Franco Mazza, Scott Jarosz, Michael Roumes, Anthony Rallo and Jose Diaz.

Second place finishers from Roxbury were Dominick LaRusso, Evan Vazquez and Stephan Fowler.

Third place Gaels were John Tesoriero, Lawrence Hopkins and Talha Kahn.
