RANDOLPH, NJ - The Goddard School of Randolph, a TAPinto Roxbury sponsor, recently held an Art Gala in support of the disaster relief efforts in Puerto Rico.  The school and it’s families were touched by the recent events in Houston, Las Vegas and Puerto Rico and wanted to give back as a school community.  One of the school’s teachers, Ms. Talisa, and her family were directly impacted by the natural disaster in Puerto Rico.

Over 150 children in the school, from Infants through Pre-Kindergarten, created an art history piece over several days.  The artwork was created in honor of some of the school’s favorite artists including Andy Warhol, Jackson Pollock, Claude Monet, Vincent Van Gogh and Wassily Kandinsky. The children showcased their own masterpiece the night of the Gala which included a red carpet, sparkling cider and other light refreshments.

Children and parents dressed up for the evening and walked the red carpet in style.  "It was very special to receive my son's artwork and also be able to watch the children throughout the school recreate these historical masterpieces with their classroom teachers", said Molly Nicolicchia, proud parent and Director of Education.

As a result of the night, the school community collected $2,250 in donations for the Northern New Jersey Chapter of the American Red Cross and each parent went home with their own child’s art project.  The kind donations will be directed to the Hurricane Maria relief efforts in Puerto Rico.

Upcoming events at the school include family story time, classroom holiday celebrations and a Winter Concert.

For more information on any of these events or The Goddard School of Randolph, please contact the school at 973-584-1154 or randolphnj@goddardschools.com.  Please also visit the school Facebook page.
