ROXBURY, N.J. - The Rev William Santeliz, parochial vicar of St. Therese Church in Succasunna, entered peacefully into eternal rest on Nov. 5 at Compassionate Care Hospice following a well-fought battle with cancer. He was 49 years young.
A native of Chiquinquira, Venezuela, Father Santeliz earned his Bachelors Degree from Saint Thomas Aquinas Seminary, Maracaibo, Venezuela in 1994 and his Masters Degree in Philosophy from Cecilio Acosta University, Maracaibo, Venezuela in 1995.
After immigrating to the United States, he studied at The Neocatechumenate Seminary in Kearny, Seton Hall University in South Orange and Saints Cyril and Methodius Seminary in Orchard Lake, MI before his ordination as a Roman Catholic Priest with the Diocese of Paterson on May 26, 2007.
Father Santeliz served as a Parochial Vicar at St. Peter the Apostle Parish in Parsippany from 2007-2010, and St. Therese Parish, Succasunna from 2010 until the present.
He is survived by his parents, Amenaida Guevara and Nestor Santeliz; three brothers, Wilmer, Wilson, and Wilmerson, and many family and friends in the United States and abroad.

Visitation Wednesday, Nov. 9, 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. Evening Prayer 8 p.m. St. Therese Church Funeral Mass will be Nov. 10 11 a.m. at St. Therese Church.
Private Internment will be at Gates of Heaven Cemetery in East Hanover at a later date
