CONWAY, SC -- Brian Quilty of Succasunna, is among the 106 Professional Golf Management students at Coastal Carolina University with a 3.0 GPA or higher. A 2.0 GPA is required to remain enrolled in the program.
"Our PGA Golf Management Program students take their academics seriously and are committed to performing at a high level," said Will Mann, PGA, director of the PGA Golf Management Program at CCU. "They are wonderful representatives of Coastal Carolina University and our PGA Program and we congratulate them and are proud of them."
The PGA Golf Management Program at Coastal Carolina University is one of 18 programs accredited by the PGA of America. It prepares students for a successful career in the golf industry by combining academic studies and professional golf-training experiences.
The program's curriculum has been developed to offer students the opportunity to simultaneously complete the requirements for a Bachelor of Science in business administration, acquire valuable training experiences in the golf industry and complete the PGA of America's membership requirements.
Enrollment in the program is limited, and it takes 4.5 years to complete. PGA students can major in accounting; economics; finance; management; marketing; or hospitality, resort, and tourism management and receive the PGA designation when they have completed their academic and PGA membership requirements. The PGA membership requirements include passing the PGA's Playing Ability Test (PAT), completing 16 months of full-time internship work and completing all of the PGA's educational courses.
Coastal Carolina University is a dynamic, public comprehensive liberal arts institution located in Conway, just minutes from the resort area of Myrtle Beach, S.C.
