ROXBURY, NJ - Roxbury High School graduate Anna Hoferer was recently honored by William Paterson University for being named the school's salutatorian.
Hoferer, now working as a fourth-grade special education teacher in the Denville schools, was mentioned at the William Paterson commencement proceedings last month. The university said the award was presented to the "highest achieving transfer student."
Hoferer actually graduated from William Paterson in January with a Bachelor of Arts degree, summa cum laude, in elementary education and teacher of students with disabilities, and liberay studies with concentration in sociology and anthropology.
"A Dean's List student, Ms. Hoferer is a member of Pi Lambda Theta International Honor Society, the Zeta Alpha chapter of Kappa Delti Pi International Honor Society in education, Tau Sigma National Honor Society and Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society," it was noted at the commecement ceremony.
Hoferer was also the recipient of the Department of Special Education and Counseling Excellence in Teaching Award.
