The sale to the public is on Friday, Sept. 6 from 5 p.m to 8 p.m. and Olde Suckasunny Day on Saturday, Sept. 7 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Bag day will be on Sunday, Sept. 8 from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m., where you can fill a bag that the Friends will provide for only $5.

“Every penny generated from this sale goes right back to the library and to the enrichment of our patrons,” said President of the Roxbury Library Board of Trustees Tracy Baltz. “The Friends of the Roxbury Public Library sponsor our countess offerings of programs and concerts for children and adults, museum passes, books, equipment and services that the library could not otherwise provide our community.”

Sale prices start as low as $1 for small paperbacks and hardcovers. Most children’s books will be priced at 4 for $1.

Donations of hardcovers, paperbacks, current textbooks, DVDs, and vinyls in very good condition, will be accepted at the library from Aug. 20 - 28. Magazines, Reader’s Digest condensed books, dictionaries and encyclopedias will not be accepted. Tax receipts will be available.

The Friends are seeking volunteers to help set up the room, sort books and help pack up books for donation at the end of the sale. If you can help, please email
