ROXBURY, NJ – The roundabout that once connected Route 10 and Route 46 in Ledgewood, the Ledgewood Circle, is long gone. But Circle Bowl & Entertainment is going strong and is celebrating 60 years of existence Sunday with an indoor/outdoor party.
The Third Annual Circle Day will be bigger and better than ever, vowed Garrett Stahl, the company’s marketing director. He said the event is Circle Bowl’s way of thanking its patrons by throwing a party.
“It’s customer appreciation,” Stahl said. “Everyone is good to us all year, so we try give back one day.”
The July 21 party will take place from noon to 11 p.m. and will include free bowling from noon to 3 p.m., free laser tag from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m., carnival games, balloon animals, a scavenger hunt, face painting from noon to 4 p.m., cornhole games and more, said Stahl. He said people need to call ahead, at 973-584-8600, to reserve free bowling or free laser tag.
“We are doing a beer garden outside,” he said. “That will be for people 21 and older without adult supervision.”
A DJ will be playing music outside from noon to 5 p.m.
“We’re doing it better this year,” Stahl said, referring to the beer garden. “We weren’t able to do it last year because of the weather. Two years ago, we did it outside but at the far end of the parking lot. This time it’s going to be an extension of the restaurant.”
Stahl said the kitchen is preparing a “special menu” for Circle Day. On hand will be representatives from Jim Beam providing samples of the new Jim Beam Peach Whisky.
“I’m just pumped,” Stahl commented. “It’s three years running now. It’s become something like we expected it to and I love doing it. People call asking about it before we even have the plans ready.”
He said he expects about 1,000 people to show up. “If they stay all day, there are a bunch of free things, a bunch of stuff we’re giving away,” Stahl said.
Circle Bowl & Entertainment, a TAPinto Roxbury sponsor, is at 1107 Route 46 West in Ledgewood.
